3D College Denmark

3D College Denmark is a gathering place for young people who share a passion for 3D. At 3D College Denmark, students receive room and board while finishing their creative education and training at Djursland’s vocational college. The teaching takes place in Danish.

College life
3D College Denmark is located in Grenaa, one of Denmark’s most beautiful natural resorts in close proximity to sport facilities, the beach, the woods, the moor, and, of course, close to the school itself. Students live in college dorm rooms with full board which means they are served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are excellent communal facilities, and the teaching facilities which include the students’ work stations are at their disposal until 11:00p.m.

3D Teaching
At 3D College Denmark, students receive the best instruction from experienced teachers in the 3D environment. The teaching takes place in Danish. There are lots of exciting activities after classes and on weekends, and a study trip to the world’s leading 3D city, London.

The entire program is planned so that students are able to work independently with the 3D program “3D Studio Max.” At the end of the program, students produce a longer project which is evaluated by people from the 3D business.

Students are taught in the following disciplines:
Modeling
in which students form objects in 3D. We work with different methods which are meant to give students an idea of which techniques to employ on specific assignments.
Texturing
in which students give texture to 3D models. The model can be anything from the wall paper on a wall, the shining metal on a gun, or a teenage boy with blemished skin.
Lighting
this is an incredibly important aspect of 3D. The right kind of light can create moods and make pictures more photorealistic or give it another desired effect.
Animation
a 3D cartoon. Students bring life to their models, whether these are characters or objects, and tell a story using 3D tools.
Storyboarding
students learn to plan their projects, and so they learn to draw and outline how projects move from A to B.

3D College Denmark has an extensive network in the 3D business, and students have the opportunity to get an internship at a 3D company provided their talent matches the company’s needs. At the moment, we have trainees or former students in Zaxis, Cadesign, Serious Games, LANI, 3danimation.dk, and A-film, to name but a few.
