AP graduate in Computer Science - speciality in game development
Game Development – Your interest? Your future!
The gaming industry is an industry in rapid growth and development, which is why there is a great demand for both qualified programmers and developers with an insight into game development. The study programme AP Graduate in Computer Science, Specialty in Game Development is a higher education of two and a half years focusing on creating developers with specialties in game development and realisation.
During the programme, you will learn programming and gain insight into the specific demands that the developing of computer and consol games put on the programmers, including artificial intelligence, path finding, game engines etc. Additionally, you will learn about game and system development where the focus is on analysis and design of games and systems. Finally, you will learn about data bases, networks, and hardware based on the needs and demands that game development requires.
In addition to a demand for qualified game developers, we believe that the industry leaves room for innovation. So during the programme, you will receive instruction and counseling in regard to thinking of game development as a whole. That means that games, besides having to be thought out, designed, and implemented, also have to be marketed and branded. Hence, innovation and marketing play a significant role in the programme and help prepare you for the possibility of putting your own mark on the industry by starting your own gaming company.
The instruction is a combination of lectures, practical exercises, group projects, workshops, and independent study. The lectures take place at central facilities in Grenaa and to get the most out of your instruction and independent study, you will be paired up in study groups with other students at the beginning of the semester.
The study programme is offered in cooperation with Dania, the Academy of Professional Higher Education. Dania offers Academy Profession degrees in seven locations and cooperates with 13 vocational colleges in Central Region Denmark. We offer 10 higher education programmes in the business and technical fields as well as a professional bachelor’s degree. Our instructors all have academic degrees and professional experience.
