Welcome to HTX at Grenaa Technical School
The HTX programme is vocational technical/general upper secondary education. Our department enrols 210 students and employs 20 teachers. It lasts for three years and it prepares 16 to 19-year-olds for higher education. The HTX programme has its focus on technological and scientific subjects in combination with general subjects, and the basic idea is to combine theory and practice in problem-based learning.
Each student chooses a specialized study programme consisting of a package with three subjects. These packages consist of one or two A-levels together with a third subject at B or C-level. Our students have a choice of three different lines of study:
- Natural science: specialise study subjects (Maths A, Physics A and Programming C or Maths A, Biology B and Physical education and sport C) and elective subjects
- Technology (Technology A, Social science B and Design C) and elective subjects
- Communication (Communication/IT A, Social science B and Design C) and elective subjects
We emphasise that the individual student is the focal point of our activities, and it is our goal is to give our students a firm educational background that allow them to continue studying.
As an innovative school, we have integrated cutting edge technology in teaching and learning for a number of years. We were one of the first Danish schools to introduce laptop-classes in 1996. It is our goal to expand these experiences within the use of ICT in our contacts with other schools within the EU to create virtual learning environments.
